Insanity Day 1 Fitness Test

I have had a great weekend; went to the Proms at the Royal Albert Hall, out for dinner at the Riding House cafe, chilled out Sunday with a nice walk around Hampstead Heath.

Today feeling motivated I've started on the Insanity program with hopefully no more injuries stopping me from doing a session every day.

The fitness test lines up a series of high intensity cardio exercises, I've done these before but not so many at once! A lot of them are used in boxing fitness, but when doing boxing, you'd do so many as a warm up and then boxing training.

Insanity Fit Test Worksheet1

So on my first fitness test I achieved the following:

Switch kicks= 93 (I used to do Taekwondo)
Power Jacks= 44
Power Knees= 40/40 (each leg, Shaun T only does one leg?)
Power Jumps=18 (Already starting to get tired)
Globe Jumps= 9
Suicide Jumps=10 (Burpees to normal people)
Push-up Jacks= 20
Low plank oblique= 40

I didn't think that was too bad going for my first fitness test, I am however, exhausted now! I also managed to do it whilst watching Manchester United Vs Chelsea!

Insanity on the left, football on the right!

Then for dinner, a couple of roast chicken thighs, roast carrots, onions and lettuce.

No change to body just yet so haven't measured.

To tomorrow, keep reading, strength & honour.

Tom.

Delays....

Where have I been?

Well following an ambitious start to my blog and fitness regime I suffered a couple of set-backs; The recent operation I had which became infected reared its head again prompting another visit to hospital and instructions not to do any exercise!

Since that was sorted out I've started back with a couple of runs to and from work, from Rotherhithe area across the river from Canary Wharf to the City of London Financial district over Tower Bridge and passed the Tower of London and I can't wait to get fully involved with the Insanity program.

Oh and there was a stag do in Ibiza in between.

So, no drastic changes to weight or physical appearance to speak of, slight tan.

I use run keeper to track my runs, I run the same route yet the distance appears to change each time!?

These are a few of my runs to and from work over the last few weeks.

So you can see a slight progression, gotta keep going, wish me luck!
